LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON -- Search and Rescue crews were called to Little Cottonwood Canyon Thursday after a car flew 200 feet off the edge of the road.
Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Shane Hudson said, "Some folks were coming up the canyon in a pickup truck and saw the car go across the road and over the edge."
Deputies say the 20-year-old woman was parked in a turnout in the "Seven Turns" part of the canyon, then suddenly drove over the edge.
The car fell about 100 feet before hitting the ground and went another 100 feet before coming to a stop. The woman is in serious condition.
Deputies do not believe this was an accident.
