KEARNS -- A teenager was stabbed in the back during a gang fight in Kearns Friday night.

The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to a fight near 6000 South and Gingerwood Court. When they got there the fight had ended.

Shortly after that, they found the 13-year-old boy who had been stabbed.

Lt. Don Hutson said, "A group of young men from the area of Sarah Jane Drive went over to the Gingerwood Court address to fight with some other kids. At some point, one thing led to another and the weapon was brandished. It led to the stabbing of this one person."

The boy was taken to Intermountain Medical Center but was later released. All the members of the group that was fighting, who all are juveniles, could face charges.
