SUMMIT COUNTY -- Crews are working to clear a serious crash on westbound Interstate 80 in Summit County.
Troopers say a truck driver swerved to miss an elk at mile marker 178 near Echo Canyon. His tractor trailer crossed the median and slammed into a semi traveling in the opposite lanes. Two people in that truck were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Initially the crash closed both westbound lanes and one eastbound lane. All lanes are now reopened.
