SOUTH JORDAN -- Police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman with developmental disabilities.

Officers say David Groneman met the 27-year-old woman and communicated with her on the Internet for most of this year. Then on Saturday, he picked her up from a special needs dance in South Jordan, took her to a nearby park and assaulted her.

"She's an adult, physically, but she has been determined to not be capable of making adult decisions on her own," said Lt. Dan Starks, spokesman for the South Jordan Police Department.

A caregiver saw the woman leave the dance and called police after the woman told him what happened.

Groneman is in jail and faces several felony charges.
