WEST VALLEY CITY -- The Granite School District has closed Redwood Elementary School in West Valley City because of a probable case of swine flu.
The school at 2650 S. Redwood Rd. will be closed until Tuesday, May 19 at the recommendation of the Salt Lake Valley Health Department.
The closure includes all school-sponsored activities and events.
A telephone message and letter in English and Spanish have been sent to parents notifying them of the closure and providing suggestions on how to reduce the risk of getting the virus.

Residents are also encouraged to dial 211 on their telephone for updated information from the county health department.
The Granite School District says it will continue to monitor the situation in all of its schools in collaboration with the Salt Lake Valley Health Department.
Granite has also established a telephone information hot line at (801) 646-4700, and will post regularly updated information the district website at www.graniteschools.org.
