(KSL News) -- The first "turkey call" went out and Utah responded!
Utahns donated more than three thousand turkeys to the Utah Food Bank and officials hope that's just the beginning.
The food bank hopes to recieve 24-thousand turkeys this holiday season. Donations received in Salt Lake are shipped to food banks across the state so officials say it's important to get them as early as possible.
People wishing to donate can take a turkey to the Food Bank or buy one at any Smith's grocery store for 10 dollars, which includes delivery.
