(KSL News) -- A swimming pool in Cottonwood Heights became a classroom today for a group of Salt Lake County students.
Instructors with Scuba Utah taught dozens of Butler Middle School students how to scuba dive this morning. The organization provided gear and lessons to 72 students.
Mike Tuckfield, Teacher: "It's a good opportunity 'cause we're able to choose some kids who had good grades and good citizenship, and so it's kind of a reward for them to be able to come and do this."
Scuba Utah may be able to offer the program to Butler Middle School again in the Spring. Middle school teachers say the scuba classes are wonderful because they keep students quiet and content.
