SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A man accused of stealing more than three-thousand dollars worth of jewelry from a department store has been charged.
Prosecutors say 47-year-old Rudy Ringo Duran walked out of the Macy's store in Cottonwood Mall earlier this month carrying nearly 31-hundred dollars worth of jewelry.
When officers tried to arrest him, however, Duran fought with police and had to be tasered. Prosecutors also say when officers were searching Duran they found a syringe, a knife and marijuana on him.
Duran has been charged with retail theft, possession of a dangerous weapon, interfering with a police officer and a pair of drug offenses.
