KSL Newsradio's Greg Neft reportingKids are getting the message sent out via commercial from manufacturers of energy drinks. A research firm says about three million more kids and teens are downing Red Bull, Rockstar, and others, and Dr. Brad Dahl with the Utah Poison Control Center says what some are drinking them with is worrisome.

"They're mixing it with pills that contain caffeine, and that's where they really get into trouble," said Dahl.

And trouble Dahl says means getting sick.

"They become very nauseated, and a lot of times they'll throw up," he said. "At that point they want it to stop, and the bad news is it's not going to stop."

Dahl says people need to be educated about the drinks, but doesn't see a need for regulation.
