LINDON -- A man's attempt to get out of going to jail ended with a shock!

Lindon police say Jason Chipman was sentenced to 180 days in jail for shoplifting. He didn't want to go to jail, so he told officers he had just swallowed a baggie of heroin.

Officers took him to a hospital in Orem and, while being x-rayed, Chipman ran off in his hospital gown.

An officer chased him several blocks away and tased him.

Chipman is now in jail with a much longer list of charges, including evading police and resisting arrest.
