SALT LAKE COUNTY -- Salt Lake County sheriff's detectives believe an accused child rapist may have additional victims.
Scott Allen Ball, 37, was booked into jail last week on 10 counts of child rape and 10 counts of sodomy on a child. Sheriff's Lt. Don Hutson says the 9-year-old victim is the daughter of a former girlfriend with whom Ball lived in 2007.
"Apparently, there were relations that occurred between the suspect and the daughter, obviously repeatedly," Hutson said.
Detectives say the mother reported the assaults back in 2008, but detectives were not able to make contact with the victim or her mother until recently.
Hutson says since that time, Ball may have moved in with other women who had children.
"Past behavior obviously indicates what's going to happen in the future," Hutson said. "He obviously has proclivity to do this type of behavior."
Deputies are hoping people who've been in contact with Ball will call them at 801-743-7000.
