SOUTH SALT LAKE -- Police are investigating two similar crimes in different cities.

Two men robbed a man walking down a street in South Salt Lake Saturday morning. About two hours later, two men tried to rob a man at a Taylorsville condo complex.

In the first incident, police say the man was walking near 3400 South and 200 East around 10:30 a.m. Saturday when two men in a white SUV pulled up next to him and asked for directions.

When the man was unable to help them, police say one of the two pulled a gun and demanded money. The man gave them his wallet and keys then ran away.

The robbers fled also. A detailed description was not available.

About two hours later, two men also in a white SUV tried to rob a man at the Meadowbrook Condominium complex near 4300 South and 1100 West in Taylorsville.

Police say he was working in an open garage when the suspects walked in and started hitting him. They tried to take his wallet but a neighbor arrived and the suspects left.

The man wasn't threatened with a gun, but police say the neighbor saw one. Nothing was taken and the man had minor injuries.

Two suspects were arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on aggravated robbery and burglary charges.
