SALT LAKE CITY -- A local designer who was invited to show his clothing line at LA's Fashion week is back in Salt Lake. Now he's sharing with us what went on backstage at the runway show.
Things are a little bit calmer for Danny Nappi, now that he's home. He was one of only five up-and-coming designers invited to participate in the LA runway show; he was allowed to show 16 pieces from the Nappi Clothing line.
"Everyone loved it; the models liked my stuff the best. The crowd was really excited when my stuff started to walk," Nappi said.
He says he's never been a part of anything like it. "It was pandemonium behind stage. I'm surprised it looked as good as it did. There were people running around, screaming, ‘Throw this on! Get ready! Put this on!'" he said.
The crowd watching was full of potential buyers and members of the media. They all wanted to know, who is Nappi?
"The word is getting out on a national level," Nappi said.
Currently, Nappi designs and makes the clothes himself, but with all the orders he expects to come in, he's starting to build a team to help his Nappi brand really take off. "I keep telling myself I'm living the dream! This is it!" he said.
Las Vegas is starting a Fashion Week, and they've also asked Danny to show his line there.
