SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The State Board of Regents will recommend a three-point-three percent tuition increase.
The board will recommend the tuition increase as part of a 650 (M)million dollar budget it will propose to the Legislature.
The increase would pay for a three percent raise and increased benefits for faculty and staff.
Utah's individual schools also could ask for more money on top of the board's tuition increase based on their individual needs.
Higher education commissioner Richard Kendell says the board is asking for a higher budget in anticipation of continued economic prosperity in the state.
