(KSL News) -- Two Utah educators received the surprise of their lives today -- a 25-thousand dollar award for excellent teaching.
Jason Zimmerman of Sunset View Elementary in Provo was recognized by the Milken Family Foundation as one of the 100 top educators in the country. The Milken Family Foundation does not take nominations so Zimmerman didn't even know he was up for the honor.
Jason Zimmerman, Milken Award Winner: "I didn't think it was going to be me. I look at all of these great teachers we have at this school and there's so many teachers that deserve this award."
Zimmerman says he has absolutely no idea what he is going to do with the money.
Sue Pope of West Ridge Elementary School was the other MIlken winner.
