PROVO -- The Provo Municipal Council says there will be no layoffs, despite budget concerns.
Last night the council passed a resolution stating other measures will be taken before the jobs of city workers are cut.
The council members also called for Mayor Lewis Billings to work more closely with them when creating budget reports.
The Provo Daily Herald reports the move comes two months after the mayor criticized plans for the council to hire its own budget director.
