SALT LAKE CITY -- A woman charged with setting fire to several abandoned houses in her Ogden neighborhood has struck a plea deal.

Marianne Mancuso, 48, pleaded no contest to two third-degree felony arson charges in connection with a string of fires near 300 East and 18th Street in Ogden in early October.

In exchange, prosecutors dismissed two other charges.

She told police she set the fires to jump start a multi-million dollar redevelopment project in the area.

The Deseret News reports Mancuso will remain in jail until she is sentenced on May 6.
