Spanish Fork High School is known for "the rock" which is located on the lawn as you enter the school. This monolith has been a part of Spanish Fork High School for over 25 years. It is painted for many activities and dances that are sponsored by the school. Hundreds of layers of paint have been used to celebrate the beginning of school, Harvest Ball, Prom, graduation, etc.

Other schools have tried unsuccessfully to have a rock, but Spanish Fork High School has been able to maintain its uniqueness with outstanding artists and respect for the school.

Spanish Fork High School has been in a unique position for the past few years of experiencing growing and shrinking pains. SFHS has been the largest high school in Nebo School District and has competed in 5A activities.

Portables, new buildings, more faculty and staff were added to accommodate the growth. In the past five years SFHS has had a new administration, new technology focus, 3 new high schools within the boundaries, and reclassification from 5A to 4A.

There has been a change of student numbers from over 1800 to a projected 930 students for 2009-2010 school year.

The high school was accredited this year, and the accreditation team gave the school the highest marks possible. Their comments were how amazed they were that students and staff were so positive about what was happening at SFHS despite the many changes occurring in such a short time. The school could be accurately labeled the Audacity of Hope High School.
