WEST JORDAN -- A West Jordan man has been arrested after police say he was sexually abusing a handicap girl.
West Jordan police say 57-year-old Scott K. Olsen had befriended a 14-year-old handicapped girl who has the mental capacity of a third- or fourth-grader.
It was the girl's school who found out something was wrong. West Jordan police Sgt. Travis Rees said, "The 14-year-old girl told her teacher she had an adult boyfriend. That started an investigation, which led us to this suspect."
Sgt. Rees says the Olsen invited the girl to his apartment where police say he bound and sexually abused her.
Olsen was booked in jail Tuesday night for multiple charges including forcible sex abuse and unlawful detention.
