PROVO -- A man accused of murdering his uncle will undergo a mental competency evaluation.

Lawyers for Colton Louder, 25, asked for the review, which was granted by the court Tuesday.

Louder is accused of shooting his uncle, 45-year-old Jeff Ackerman, during an argument on Feb. 27.

He is charged with first-degree felony murder, which could result in a life sentence if Louder is convicted.

Family members say Louder was using drugs at the time of the murder and does not remember the crime.
