KSL Newsradio's Randall Jeppeson reportingA 17-year-old girl is trying to recover after her face was smashed up when she was pinned between two cars.
Black skid marks leaving the right lane into the shoulder parking lane near the Provo/Orem border on State Street.
"She's lucky to be alive," said Provo police Captain Rick Healey. A 17-year old boy suddenly turned to the right, then hit his brakes when he realized he was headed straight for a parked car. But there was also a 17-year-old girl standing there talking to friends.
"She ended up with a broken leg and broken bones in her face, said Healey. "She's in serious condition now."
police are still interviewing witnesses and say they are looking at the possibility of racing. But whether the driver was or not, he could still face some serious charges.
