Police say Shelbee Gutierrez made a stop at a home known for drug activity. Officers tried to pull him over in front of the house and they say that's when he took off.

Police from multiple agencies tried to block him, and police say at one point he drove his car at one of their officers. The officer swerved. He's alright, but the chase was on.

It ended with a crash on a railroad track. Police say they found a white substance on Gutierrez. They think it is crystal meth. Now they're trying to determine if he was dealing on the streets.

Lt. Tracy Jensen, Syracuse Police Dept.: "That we don't know. We're looking into that. I've got an investigator at the office who's going to be doing some interviews, as well as going through the car. Subsequently, we may be revisiting the address he was at. That all remains to be seen."

Police say good communication made all the difference in last night's arrest. Officers from Clearfield, Syracuse and Davis County coordinated well to put this man behind bars.

This morning Gutierrez is in the Davis County Jail. Parole and probation had warrants out on him before the arrest.

The chase is only half the story though. Police now have an evidence room filed with items seized from the car. They think Gutierrez broke into cars and storage units in the Riverdale area.

Riverdale Police have at least two victims, but they think there could be more. If you think you have been victim, you can call Riverdale Police at 801-394-6616.

Police believe Gutierrez was breaking into cars along with a woman who has already been arrested.

After last night's chase, he now faces 10 new charges including drug possession, evading police and DUI.
