SALT LAKE CITY -- Police in Salt Lake are trying to figure out what sparked a massive gang fight on the city's west side overnight.
Witnesses said as many as 20 people were involved in the fight and that baseball bats and brass knuckles were being used in the melee.
Officers responding to the scene were actually making their second stop Tuesday night in the area. Earlier in the evening another, smaller fight was called to their attention.
Several people involved in the bigger brawl have been taken into custody and could face charges.
