SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A county panel is reviewing the case of a prosecutor who was fired by the Salt Lake County district attorney for allegedly leaking confidential information in a case involving an escort service.

The Salt Lake County Career Service Council is reviewing the March 2008 firing of prosecutor Kent Morgan.

Valerie Wilde, an attorney for the county, on Monday contended that phone records of contacts between Morgan and Santiago Steven Maese, who ran the Doll House escort service, show something improper was going on.

Maese was convicted of five felony counts. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail in January.

Maese was charged in October 2006. Wilde says the contact began in April of that year.

Morgan denies any wrongdoing and says he mostly discussed politics with Maese.
