SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A Utah prosecutor who has handled death-penalty cases and the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping is fighting to regain his job.
Kent Morgan was fired after his Salt Lake County bosses said he leaked confidential information to a friend who's been linked to a prostitution ring.
Morgan denies even having access to information in the case against Steven Maese, who is charged with exploiting a prostitute, money laundering and racketeering.
Morgan is appealing his firing to the Salt Lake County Career Services Council. He says he wants to regain his job and his "integrity."
Morgan says Maese helped him when he was campaigning for the Republican nomination for district attorney in 2006.
