SALT LAKE COUNTY-- There is now a $1,000 reward being offered in the killing of a horse earlier this week.

Witnesses say a man parked his brown 4x4 truck near I-80 and 6800 West just off the Frontage Road, opened the blue-gray horse trailer and let the horse out. Then witnesses say he ordered his two black dogs to attack and torment the horse.

Later the man was seen shooting the horse once in the head and leaving the scene. The horse took several steps before falling to the ground.

Salt Lake County Animal Services say the man could face felony charges of animal cruelty. The Animal Advocacy Alliance is offering the $1,000 reward. If you have any information that could lead to an arrest and the reward please call the police.
