College numbers guru Jerry Palm has updated his NCAA Tournament projections.

It seems to me that most prognosticators have BYU playing in Philadelphia, for some reason. Philly is one of four Thursday/Saturday sites to which BYU can assigned--the others are Portland, Kansas City, and Greensboro, NC.

According to realtimerpi.com. BYU moved up from 30th to 23rd in the latest RPI update (as of Wednesday morning).

After having written about last night's comeback win at SDSU, I thought about a couple of other notable rallies in the Dave Rose era. In his first year as BYU head coach, the Cougars trailed TCU by 9 points with a minute to play at the Marriott Center, but staged an improbable uprising to force the game to overtime and eventually pull off the win.

Last year, BYU trailed New Mexico by 8 points with only five minutes to play at the Pit, but the Cougars came back to force overtime, and in the extra session, Trent Plaisted was the hero--hitting the game-winning free throws with five seconds to play.

Did you know? BYU tied a Mountain West Conference record last night, by improving to 8-3 overall in away games this season. The Cougars' eighth away win ties a mark set previously by four other MWC teams, including BYU last year.

BYU can set a new MWC record for overall away wins with a victory one week from tonight in Laramie. In conference play only, BYU at 4-3 and Utah at 4-2 are the only teams who can finish with winning road records this season. The seven other league teams already have at least four conference road losses.
