I went enee menee minee moe, and I picked Romney.

He's selling his Utah home. But I want to point out to Utahns that he still expects to spend time here. His son lives here, he loves it here, so many Utahns love him, etc. It's apparently just time to downsize.

A spokeswoman says the Romneys are also selling their Massachusetts mansion where they raised their five sons. The boys are grown, and 6,400 square feet seems a little much now. They may try to find a condo there.

When I did the story on Tuesday (Andrew Adams took it over when I was sent to the highway hamburger spill), I started out by describing the Deer Valley abode. A must see, post and beam, 9,500 square foot ski lodge. Yours for only $5.25 million. The Boston Bungalo is only $3 million by the way.

One politico thought perhaps Romney is shedding houses in order to run for President again. John McCain was criticized for not answering quickly enough how many homes he owned.

The Romneys still own a $10 million home on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee in Wolfeboro, N.H. and a $12 million beachfront compound in La Jolla, California, so I don't think they are downsizing much.

By the way, lest you think I am criticizing the Romneys for their wealth, I give you the following from "Fiddler on the Roof:"

Perchik: Money is the world's curse. Tevye: May the Lord smite me with it. And may I never recover!
