(KSL News) -- Two vehicles collided in a serious accident at the intersection Parley's Way and Wilshire Blvd. in Salt Lake Friday afternoon.
It appears the two hit head-on. The investigation is still underway, but one car may have been making a left-hand turn.
Officers say it's a busy intersection.
Sgt. Michael Hill, Salt Lake City Police Dept.:"The problem you have with this particular intersection is that there is a freeway off ramp here. So you have higher speeds coming down Parleys Way. Parleys Way is a very heavily congested road anyway. Plus you have the neighborhood here to the south, which is the only roadway into this particular neighborhood of several hundred residents that live back here. Then right across the street you've got the Kmart that a lot of people shop at. So it's a very busy intersection."
The impact pushed one of the vehicles into a power pole.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to hospitals in serious condition, but their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
