OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Police have booked a man into jail on investigation of criminal homicide a day after a stabbing death at an Ogden apartment.
Police say Kurt Hayes Wangler was booked into Weber County jail early Wednesday and is being held without bail, the Deseret News reported on its Web site Wednesday.
Wangler was found in Salt Lake City on Tuesday night with his wife, Katherine Wangler, who was the subject of an endangered person alert.
Police say Wangler had been released from jail earlier Tuesday and was supposed to go look for work before returning. But police say he instead went back to the apartment he shared with his wife, who had a protective order against him.
They say he then stabbed to death Tony Padilla, 22, and forced his wife to flee with him.
