Tonya Papanikolas reporting Family members of a Hill Air Force Base airman say they want justice in the near beating death of their son.
The family says they don't want the club shut down. They just want the attackers caught.
The family of Master Sergeant Tyrone Reynolds is still reeling from details of the attack. He's still recovering at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden. His family says he has a critical brain injury and is still in ICU. He hasn't woken up since the accident, and therefore hasn't been able to tell anyone what happened.
His wife says she knows her husband was just doing his job.
Master Sgt. Tyrone Reynolds was leaving a club at Hill Air Force Base early Monday morning when his wife says he saw a parking violation and asked a few people to remove the vehicle.
Ronda Reynolds, Victim's Wife: "Tye is very observant in those kind of matters, and if he saw something that was out of line, he would have told those younger troops to get it fixed, and that's probably what he did."
She says whoever it was, challenged him on the violation and somehow became angry enough to hit him in the back of the head.
Ronda Reynolds: "The doctors are telling me that the blow would have had to be extremely significant in order to take my husband out - and that's completely out of his nature."
His wife emphasizes her husband was not drunk. She says his blood alcohol limit was well below the legal limit. She hopes whoever beat her husband is caught and receives the maximum allowable punishment.
Ronda Reynolds: "These individuals were just a couple of bad seeds. We don't know if they were military or civilian. That's still ongoing in the investigation."
Military personnel and local law enforcement are investigating the incident. One man was charged with obstruction of justice in the case. So far, no one has been charged in the beating.
