SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Gov. Jon Huntsman has signed the 2009 budget cuts into law.

Huntsman signed several bills on Monday that slash nearly every state agency's funding by about 3.8 percent. Lawmakers approved the cuts last week.

Utah's revenues have steadily declined as the state economy plunged amid a nationwide housing crisis that's crippled the local construction industry.

The state's 2009 budget now sits at about $11.1 billion, down from the $11.5 billion budget lawmakers approved last March.

Huntsman's proposed 2010 budget is $10.6 billion, but many lawmakers expect that figure to be lowered when new revenue estimates are released next week.
