PROVO, Utah (AP) -- A man who fell 400 feet to his death was a 30-year-old local resident who told family members that he would return after hiking in Rock Canyon, police said Tuesday.
"We have no idea what the circumstances were when he fell," Provo police Capt. Rick Healey said. "We don't have anything to believe it was anything but an accident."
Brian Eggett's body was discovered Saturday and removed Sunday, he said.
He was not carrying identification and apparently had set aside his cell phone, which was found ringing by other hikers, Healey said.
Eggett was hiking to the top of Squaw Peak, the captain said.
