KANAB, Utah (AP) -- Much of southern and central Utah are getting hit with heavy rain and thunderstorms today.

All the wet weather forced the National Weather Service to issue a flash flood watch early this morning for most of the central and southern sections of the state.

The weather service says those areas are expected to be hit with a half to one inch of rain, along with scattered thunderstorms.

Forecasters predict several of the creeks and streams in southern and central Utah will continue to rise throughout the day.
