(KSL News) A judge in Wasatch County is deciding if a preliminary hearing should be held in the case of a man accused of killing an American Fork woman.
Christopher Alvey is charged with first-degree homicide in the death of Ashley Sparks last month at the Jordanelle Resevoir.
Alvey appeared in court today so a judge could determine if there is enough evidence against him to forgo a preliminary hearing and go straight to trial.
Two other men were arrested in connection with Sparks' death, but formal charges have not bee filed against either.
