(KSL News) -- Idaho Health officials confirmed this afternoon that the death of a two-year-old Chubbuck boy who died at Primary Children's Medical Center was caused by tainted spinach.

Test results show Kyle Allgood was infected with the same E. coli strain found in fresh spinach that has sickened nearly 200 people across the nation.

Kyle is the second confirmed death from the tainted spinach outbreak. The genetic testing finished up today confirms what health officials suspected.

Allgood would have turned three in December. He died September 20th at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City.

His mother said she had fed the boy a smoothie containing fresh spinach just before he got sick.
