The University of Utah says snow and ice still cover some sidewalks on campus because of a tight budget.

Some of the sidewalks are plowed. But other places, like the steps to Kingsbury Hall, are still covered.

"They do a pretty good job," one student told KSL. "Sometimes when it snows a lot it's hard to keep all of them clean. But they do a pretty good job once it's stopped snowing," she said.

The university says tighter budgets mean the school has less salt to use on the packed ice and snow leading to dorms and lecture halls.
