Shelley Osterloh ReportingA truck with a camper on the back tried to outrace police this morning, but ended when with a crash and the driver in custody, facing lots of charges.

Deputies say the suspect has been very uncooperative; it took a while to even ID the man, he has nearly a dozen stolen credit cards.

Sheriff's deputies pulled the truck over in Magna and talked with the suspect before he sped off. The chase went on for about ten minutes, reaching speeds of about 60 miles per hour, but ended near SR- 201 and Redwood Road when the truck hit some spikes.

Lt. Chris Bertram, Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office: "As the deputies approached he refused to come out of the vehicle, in fact he went to the rear of the motor home and hid in the closet. Deputies then went in there and he resisted arrest and some tazers had to be used on him."

Deputies found methaphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the camper truck, and at first thought the suspect might be making meth in the camper; that turned out not to be the case. They did find many stolen credit cards and possibly other stolen items.

38-year old Lyle Creller faces numerous charges including fleeing from police and possession of drugs and stolen credit cards.
