SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The University of Utah is offering a new fellowship in Mormon studies.
Robert Goldberg, director of the university's Tanner Humanities Center, says the fellowship is believed to be the first of its kind at the school. The award is worth $18,000.
The recipient will get a private office and will be in residence at the university for nine months beginning in August.
The fellowship, funded by the George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Foundation, is for study focusing on a topic related to the history or culture of Mormonism.
Goldberg says the fellowship has received funding for the next two years.
