On the air Saturday, I erroneously stated that BYU's 26-point win at Colorado State just missed being BYU's largest margin of victory in an MWC road game. Turns out, a media guide error led to that mistaken conclusion, and in reality, BYU's 86-60 win indeed set a school record for victory margin in an MWC road game.
*******
The last time BYU won a conference road game by more than 26 points was almost 16 years ago, when BYU went to Air Force and won 103-68 in a WAC affair at Clune Arena.

While BYU's Marriott Center win streak recently ended at 53, BYU still maintains and now seeks to extend the school and MWC record for consecutive homecourt conference wins. The Cougars have won 24 consecutive MWC home games, last losing a Marriott Center league game on March 5th, 2005, when UNLV ended BYU's regular season with a 76-66 victory.
*******
The Cougars are 5-0 in away games this season--the only MWC team yet to lose an away game (BYU is 1-1 in neutral court games). The MWC record for consecutive away wins is 8, set by Air Force in 2006-07.
Wyoming is the only MWC team yet to lose at home this season (7-0).

Lee Cummard is four points away from passing Alan Taylor for 18th place on the BYU career scoring tally. Lee is 19 points away from surpassing Dick Nemelka for 17th place. Lee has 1,281 points heading into the TCU game. If he maintains his current scoring average (17.9ppg) and BYU plays 20 more games, he should end up in 9th place in BYU career scoring--just ahead of Kenneth Roberts and just behind Mark Bigelow.
What may not be well known is that Cummard didn't average double figures until his junior season (Fr: 4.9ppg; So: 9.4ppg; Jr: 15.8ppg). If he ends up in BYU's career Top 10, he will be the only player in the Top 10 with only two seasons of double figure scoring.
Players in the BYU Top 10 to average double figures in every season of competition:
1. Danny Ainge
3. Devin Durrant
5. Fred Roberts
7. Mekeli Wesley
8. Mark Bigelow
10. Kresimir Cosic (three seasons)
Note: Russell Larson (4th alltime) averaged 9.91 points per game as a freshman, then averaged double figures in his sophomore, junior and senior seasons.

By the way, if Cummard plays every game through the remainder of the MWC regular season, he will tie my broadcast partner Mark Durrant, who holds the alltime BYU record for "consecutive games played." Mark holds the record at 128--Lee has played in 113 consecutive games. Assuming he doesn't miss any games, Cummard would break the record in the first game of the conference tournament in Las Vegas.

Jonathan Tavernari is 94 points away from becoming the 39th member of BYU's 1,000-point club. With 157 career three-point field goals, JT is six makes away from tying Mike Rose for second place on BYU's alltime three-point tally. Mark Bigelow is the BYU career record-holder, with 213 triples.
