KSL Newsradio's Mary Richards and Randall Jeppeson reporting Salt Lake City this weekend will be packed with attendees for the semi-annual General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The two-day Conference starts Saturday at 10:00 AM, and many people who spoke to KSL say they can't wait to hear from President Gordon B. Hinckley, and are glad to see he's in good health.

"He looks older, though. You can tell he's aged," said one woman outside the LDS Church's Conference Center. "Well, he's in his 90s, so he should look a little old," remarked another. "He seems to be still kicking."

You can watch or listen to conference on KSL, and this weekend it will be offered in Spanish as well. Utah's Hispanic population is growing drastically, and now if you want to watch conference and catch up on your espanol you can tune into KBYU.

"There are populations that need to be served," said BYU broadcasting marketing manager Jim Bell. He says one issue with putting Spanish programming on a typically all-English channel is letting the target audience k know.

"We sent word out through the ecclisiastical leaders of the Hispanic units, the wards and branches," Bell said. "And word of mouth, we hope."

The move is just one more indication that Utah is getting more diverse. Of course, you can always catch conference in English here on KSL Newsradio and TV.
