The University of Utah is trying to stay on message as it pushes for a No. 1 ranking for its football team. Today, the entire athletics department wore shirts asking for those who get a vote in The Associated Press college football national rankings race to vote for the Utes.
"It's kind of a no-brainer. I think everyone should vote from them for No. 1," said office assistant Jill Gillman.
Cory Meyer, who works in ticketing, said, "When you get into that whole game and who's beat who, Utah's sitting at the top."
Associate Athletic Director Liz Abel says they're trying to keep the Utes top-of-mind with voters without being pushy. "I certainly want to make sure they know what we're doing, but that we don't irritate them," she said.
The only AP voter from Utah is Daily Hearld sports reporter Jason Frankchuk. He joined us to discuss the vote in tonight's Talking Point.
