A parody song is raising ire among Democrats and Republicans alike. A former head of the Utah Republican Party says he doesn't like it either.
The new words to "Puff the Magic Dragon" weren't written by Chip Saltsman, a candidate for the next Republican National Committee chair, but he sent out the song, along with 40 others, to other party leaders.
Former Utah Republican Party Chair Bruce Hough doesn't think it's funny. "It was a stupid idea. He, as a political strategist if nothing else, should have known better," Hough said.
Hough says the parody was meant as a barb aimed at the Los Angeles Times, but he tells KSL's Doug Wright it was clearly in bad taste.
