(KSL News) A man reportedly survived being caught in an avalanche on the Big Cottonwood-Mill Creek ridge line on Friday.

According to information posted on the Utah Avalanche Center Web site, the man was buried in four feet of snow. His three companions dug him out. He was unconscious, but reportedly started breathing and eventually skied down the hill after he received "rescue breaths."

The avalanche center says all four men are reported to be very experienced backcountry skiers.
