SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A police officer at the scene of an alleged drunken-driving accident ended up getting two arrests in one stop.

She thought something was wrong when a van suddenly avoided the accident scene and turned into a parking lot. The van happened to be on fire and had a blown tire.

Officer Lisa Pascadlo says she could hear the van before she saw it. When she checked it out, the driver and three passengers had apparently been drinking heavily.

A driver who followed the van told Pascadlo he had seen the van hit a sport-utility vehicle a few blocks away.

Pascadlo says the driver of the van was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence.

The driver of the accident Pascadlo originally responded to also was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence.
