MOAB — A 79-year-old Moab man is dead after a crash involving a car and a motorcycle on U.S. 191 Monday night.

The crash happened about 8:20 p.m. on southbound U.S. 191 just north of Moab, according to the Utah Department of Transportation.

A person driving a Chevy Colorado was traveling south, and while passing another vehicle, the Chevy and a Harley Davidson motorcycle going north in the left lane collided, Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cameron Roden said.

The man, identified Tuesday by the Utah Department of Public as James Kenneth Braggs, was riding the motorcycle and died at the scene.

The driver of the Chevy was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
