SALT LAKE CITY — The Summit County Sheriff's Office added a new touch to its officer uniform on Friday night — a new badge.
Sheriff Kacey Bates was the one who officially unveiled the badge.
"This badge has been several years in the making and represents more than a new design," the sheriff's office said. "It reflects who we are as an agency and, just as importantly, the community we serve."

The sheriff's office said the badge symbolizes values like honor, courage, and trust.
"Every detail was thoughtfully chosen to honor our history, our deputies and staff, and the people who call this community home," the sheriff's office said. "We are proud to wear a badge that represents not just our office, but the strong partnership we share with our community. Thank you for your continued trust and support."
