OGDEN — An Ogden man was arrested Thursday and accused of slitting his mother's throat and killing her.

Alec Conrad Martinez, 25, was booked into the Weber County Jail for investigation of aggravated murder and attempting to disarm a police officer.

On Thursday, 911 dispatchers received a "frantic" call about 1:10 p.m. from a 48-year-old woman.

"He has a knife," the woman screamed, according to a police booking affidavit, followed by multiple screams of "'Alec' and other distressing commotions." Dispatchers "pinged" the call to the 1400 block of Washington Boulevard.

"While officers were en route, more commotion was overheard along with screaming. Eventually, a male got on he line and told dispatch, 'I think I killed my mom," the affidavit alleges.

The woman was found on the front porch with "severe lacerations to her neck and other areas of her body," police noted. She was taken to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries. Her name has not yet been released.

Martinez confronted police in the street with a knife and initially did not drop it before eventually surrendering, according to the affidavit. But even after giving up while being placed into the back of a police patrol vehicle, Martinez "grabbed an officer's Taser on his belt and tried to remove it. He was given commands to release the Taser, but he failed to obey and continued to pull on the Taser in an attempt to remove it from the holster. After a brief struggle, officers were able to remove Alec's hands from the Taser and place him in a 'wrap,'" the arrest report says.
