SALT LAKE CITY — The Red Butte Outdoor Concert Series is adding one last big name to round up this year's lineup.

Jon Batiste will bring his "Big Money Tour" to the garden amphitheater on Sept. 8, organizers announced on Thursday. The news came as Batiste also announced his new U.S. tour, which is why the September date was not included in the initial 29 concerts that were announced last month for the 2025 Red Butte Outdoor Concert Series lineup.

The 38-year-old jazz, blues and pop artist has had a piece in pop culture for some time, winning seven Grammy Awards, including the coveted Album of the Year in 2021 for his album "We Are." He also won a Best Original Score Oscar and Golden Globe for his work on the 2020 Pixar movie "Soul."

Batiste also served as the bandleader for "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" from 2015 to 2022, in addition to his recorded work. Tickets will go on sale beginning at 10 a.m. Friday to Red Butte members, before a general sale begins at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. Costs range from $96.50 for members to $101.50 for the general public.

The Outdoor Concert Series debuted in 1987, bringing artists from around the world to the Red Butte Garden Amphitheatre.

The year's series, which begins with Cheap Trick next week, also features artists like Rick Springfield, ZZ Top, Barenaked Ladies, Train and My Morning Jacket. It wraps up with Hermanos Gutiérrez on Sept. 16. A few of this year's shows have already sold out.
