ATHENS, Ga. — Texas, buoyed by its first No. 1 ranking in 21 years, leaned on its defense to overcome a sluggish start and beat Georgia 57-26. Taylor Jones had 17 points and matched her career high 16 rebounds as Texas extended its winning streak to 11 games. Rori Harmon and Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda each added 10 points. Earlier Monday, Texas moved to No. 1 in The Associated Press Top 25 for the first time since Feb. 16, 2004. De'Mauri Flournoy led Georgia with nine points. Texas outscored Georgia 37-10 in the second half.
